Net Zero Emissions Targets

Net zero emissions refers to an economy that produces less greenhouse gas emissions than it removes from the atmosphere – so net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Different governments around the world have set different target dates by when they aim to achieve this. The EU and the UK both aim to have net zero emissions by 2050. In April 2021, the UK government introduced new, more ambitious targets, that commit it to reducing carbon emissions by 78% (compared to 1990 levels) by 2035.

To achieve these aims means extensive changes to energy infrastructure and the way the economy operates. Critically, businesses are being encouraged and incentivised to reduce their carbon footprint and invest in renewable energy projects.

Here at Engenera Renewables Group, we are the decarbonisation partner of choice for businesses exploring the range of options available to them to both reduce their carbon emissions and generate their own energy from renewable sources. Contact us today to find out how we can help.
